SF6 is widely used as an insulating medium for high-voltage electrical equipment. Compared with conventional open-type high-voltage distribution equipment, SF6-insulated fully-enclosed switchgear covers a much smaller area. It will not be affected by external meteorological and environmental conditions during operation. Therefore, SF6-insulated fully-enclosed switchgear has not only been widely used in ultra-high voltage and extra-high voltage power systems, but also begun to be used in distribution network (SF6-insulated switch cabinet and ring main unit). SF6-insulated pipe transmission line is characterized by low dielectric loss and high transmission capacity. It can be used in high drop occasions.
